15th of March is one of the National Holidays of Hungary that seems to evolve around red-white-green cockades, hussars, and Petőfi’s National Anthem. You can also easily research that we celebrate the outbreak of the Revolution and Independance War of 1848/49 this day. Of course there is much more to it, than that. Join the 15th of March Tour and let me take you on a jurney where we retrace the events of that fatefull day. We will follow the steps of the so-called Youths of March on the streets of 19th century Pest and discuss the events tat led to the revolution, what living in Pest was like around that time and which buildings were already standing that we see today. Did Petőfi really recite his National Anthem on the steps of the National Museum? Did it actually rain? And who was that poor soul, the revolutionaries forgot to free from prison amidst the commotion?
Join the 15th of March tour and find out!
